The difference between LCD and OLED
The full name of LCD is the liquid crystal display screen, which can be displayed only after being illuminated by the backlight. Its principle is that different colors are generated based on the white light passing through the color filter, and the light transmittance of each pixel is controlled through the current, so as to control the color of the pixel. After years of development, this technology is now relatively mature, such as TFT, IPS and SLCD on the market, but there are different treatments in technology. In fact, they all belong to LCD screen in essence.
OLED, whose scientific name is "organic light emitting diode", is an organic self luminous material. It can emit light by itself without a separate backlight or color filter. Each OLED pixel can be assigned red, green and blue colors. Now manufacturers have added yellow, but the principle is the same.
The difference between the two:
1. The viewing angle of OLED display is relatively better and the corresponding speed is faster
2. The OLED screen is thin and foldable, with richer colors
3. OLED itself can emit light, and LCD should rely on backlight to emit light
4. LCD is relatively cheap
